Appraisals
The appraisal system is very
structured and open, with an emphasis on self
evaluation. After three months in your seat, you will have an
interim appraisal with your supervisor. This allows you or
your supervisor an opportunity to voice any concerns or give you a
pat on the back fairly early on in your seat. This is your formal
opportunity to raise any queries or to request that you are exposed
to different sorts of work. In reality, informal appraisals can
take place with your supervisor as often as you like.
Your six month appraisal with your
supervisor will involve a general look at how you have developed
during your time in the department. This appraisal will form the
basis of the six month appraisal with the HR Director and the
Training Principal. Here you discuss the results of the
appraisal, your experiences during the seat in general and the core
skills covered. In addition, you will be asked where your
preference would be for your next seat.
