Hugh James announces new partner promotions
Wales’ leading law firm Hugh James has
announced the promotion of two new partners as it continues to
focus on strengthening and positioning its services for the
future.
The internal promotions see Simon Ellis and
Melanie Watkins promoted to Partners within the Cardiff office,
bringing the total number of partners within Hugh James to forty
one.
Matthew Tossell, Managing Partner of Hugh

firm and our people. Melanie and Simon are among our brightest
talent. Their achievements at the firm to date have done much to
add to Hugh James’ reputation as one of the UK’s leading law firms.

Simon has worked within Hugh James for more
than eleven years, having trained and qualified with the Firm. As a
partner, he will continue to lead efforts to claim compensation on
behalf of former mine workers suffering with osteoarthritis of the
knees. Simon also heads the Group dealing with recovery actions on
behalf of victims of flooding.
Melanie qualified with the firm in 1999 and
has over 10 years experience in debt recovery, credit management,
contractual disputes and insolvency. She is responsible for Hugh
James’ online suite of products and services via Hugh James
Online.
