Iain Scott, a partner at Hugh James, recently swapped his
solicitor’s briefcase for a hiker’s rucksack to undertake the
mountainous Machu Picchu trek in the Andes. Iain completed
the 45 km journey over four days, climbing to a height of 4,525
metres.
He is using the trek as a cornerstone of his campaign to raise
£10,000 for the NSPCC. Iain was inspired to raise this sum
following the efforts of his wife, Catherine Scott, in cycling from
London to Paris in order to raise money for the NSPCC.
Iain says: “This is a very deserving cause. I’m extremely
glad to have succeeded in this trek, as it will make a big
contribution in helping me achieve my £10,000 fundraising
target. It was a great experience, which took me out of my
comfort zone.”
Iain, who is from Penarth, was part of a party of ten Cardiff
businessmen who made the journey along the Inca trail to Machu
Picchu on behalf of the NSPCC.
Iain’s efforts are part of ongoing support for the NSPCC by Hugh
James, which will include extensive fundraising via a range of
events through to January.
Hugh James’ Business Development & Marketing Director is
actively supporting Hugh James’ charitable efforts: “It’s very
important to us at Hugh James that we support charities, and make a
real difference to society through effective, targeted CSR
activities. The NSPCC is a great charity which has our strong
support.”
