As proud supporters of the Alzheimer’s Society, Hugh James participated in the charity’s flagship fundraising event, Cardiff Memory Walk 2009, to raise money for people living with dementia.

There are currently 700,000 people living with dementia in the UK, a figure that is likely to rise to 1 million by 2025. Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading support and research charity for people with dementia and those who care for them.  Throughout September, thousands of people have taken part in over 300 walks across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.  The money raised will be used to fund the charity’s local branches.

On the 27th September a Hugh James team took part in the Cardiff event, raising more than £500 by walking three laps around Roath Park. Leading the walk for Hugh James was Lisa Morgan, an associate within the firm’s Nursing Care team. She said: “Memory Walk is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research, calling on people of all ages to take action in the fight. We hope to raise more money than ever this year, which will go towards supporting people affected by dementia in our community.”

Lisa was joined by Nicola Sidoli, Michelle Evans, Charlotte Brown, Rachael Lloyd, Gareth Wisdom, Sarah Cash, Eleanor Dix, Julie Nelms, Esyllt Hughes and Katie-Anne Edwards.

It is still possible to sponsor the Hugh James team by visiting the donations page at http://www.justgiving.com/hjmemorywalkteam. All donations will be gratefully received.
