dental adhesive

Hugh James is
representing a man who alleges serious neurological injuries and
who has been a long term user of the denture adhesive
Poligrip manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline
(GSK).
GSK has recently issued a
warning of the potential health risks from long-term use of their
zinc-containing denture adhesives Poligrip Ultra and
Poligrip Total Care. GSK has stopped the
manufacture, distribution and advertising of these products after
admitting that excessive and long term use of their product may
lead to the development of high levels of zinc in the body. GSK is
now reformulating all its denture adhesives so that they will be
zinc-free.
High levels of zinc in
the body are associated with neurological symptoms, such as:
- numbness, tingling or weakness in the arms and legs;
- difficulties with walking and balance and
- blood problems such as anemia.
These symptoms can often be compared to
symptoms of Guillain-Barré syndrome.
Hugh James

years’ experience of successfully winning these types of
claims. Our lawyers have successfully recovered compensation for
victims of other pharmaceutical products and medical devices

and cataract lenses. We are also the lead solicitors in
the Seroxat litigation.
