The draft budget was published on 17th November under the laudable by-line ‘Resolved, Resilient and Responsible’. It details how the Welsh Assembly Government is to be funded and how different departments are to share the currently diminished available funds.

 

This is undoubtedly the most critical budget of the Welsh Assembly Government’s history and arrives on the back of the UK Spending Review, announced by the Coalition Government back on 20th October.

 

The draft budget proposes making available around £403 million for Housing, but, whilst it claims that support for housing services for vulnerable groups was specifically targeted for protection, the Social Housing Grant has still been delivered a serious blow.
