Hugh James Partner, Mark Harvey has asked all of his clients who have suffered problems with their PIP Implants to report these adverse incidents to the MHRA through their confidential voluntary adverse incident reporting system. Many of the Woman who are represented by Hugh James have already reported their problems but Mark Harvey is urging more ladies to do the same irrespective of whether they wish to pursue a compensation claim or not. Mark Harvey is currently liaising with the MHRA in relation to his concerns about PIP Implants and the MHRA have confirmed that reporting all adverse incidents would assist them in gathering evidence on the reasons behind these failures.

Such adverse incidence can be reported online through the MHRA’s website and the following link:

The faulty implants were the subject of a Medical Device Alert (MDA) by the MHRA on 31 March 2010, ordering a recall on all stocks of the PIP implant. This followed an earlier issue with PIP implants using recalled hydrogel solution in 2006.  Many women who were supplied with PIP implants during breast augmentation have experienced agonising problems including ruptures and leakages.

The MHRA has announced that its independent UK tests found no evidence of chemical toxicity or the implants potentially causing cancer to victims. However, the MHRA has also admitted to its testing not being “as extensive” as the tests being carried out in France.  The MHRA has advised women with any concerns over their PIP implants to speak to their implanting surgeon.

Renowned campaigning lawyer Mark Harvey is now representing approximately 155 clients in relation to concerns over the safety of PIP breast implants.  Last week, ‘The Sun’ Newspaper reported on the problems Hugh James client,  Lindsey Easeman has suffered as a result of her PIP implants and have advised concerned ladies to contact Mark Harvey.
