There is plenty of speculation in
the press currently around the topic of Feed in Tariffs (FITs) and
Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) schemes, creating much confusion and
speculation.
On Wednesday 6 April 2011, leading
law firm Hugh James, in conjunction with the British Research
Establishment (BRE), presented a FIT and RHI seminar at their
Cardiff offices. The aim of the event was to explain the legal and
technical aspects of these complicated issues.
Key figures from housing
associations and local authorities across Wales attended the
seminar, presented by Shaun Jamieson and Ioan Prydderch, partners
in the Hugh James energy, construction and projects team and Jonny
Williams from the BRE Wales.
The seminar was also attended by other department heads at Hugh
James to provide a complete range of expertise.
Ioan Prydderch, head of energy,
construction and project team commented on the evening:
‘We were delighted with the level
of interest in this event which is a strong indication that the
recent announcements by the Department of Energy and Climate Change
are of significant importance for many of our clients including the
social housing sector and their tenants. The round table discussion
that followed the main presentation identified a number of key
issues for our clients which we are currently advising them on. The
event was very well received and we hope to contribute our
expertise to a number of the initiatives discussed.’
