Hugh James investigate environmental nuisance caused by the Monckton Coke and Chemical Company Limited
08 I 04 I 11
Leading UK law firm Hugh James has
been instructed by local Barnsley residents to pursue a group legal
action against The Monckton Coke and Chemical Company Limited. The
legal action is for compensation in relation to the odour, noise
and dust nuisance emanating from their site located at Royston in
Barnsley.
The proposed claim will be for
compensation for loss of enjoyment of the residents' homes caused
by the site’s odour noise and dust.
Residents have complained that the
odour, noise and dust has interfered with the enjoyment of their
properties and has prevented them from activities such as being
able to sit out in the garden and being able to open windows and
doors in the summer.
As well as seeking compensation on
behalf of the residents, Hugh James will also be seeking an
injunction to prevent any future continuation of the nuisance if
there is evidence in support of such a claim.
Hugh James will be holding the
following meetings for any residents who feel they have been
adversely affected by The Monckton Coke and Chemical Site or who
