Rhian Parsons a solicitor in the
Hugh James specialist clinical negligence team has recently
concluded a case for a London based client. A settlement of £30,000
was awarded to our client who has suffered on going
complications after a misdiagnosed fracture injury.
The client, who is in his twenties,
suffered a scaphoid fracture and attended A&E for treatment.
The scaphoid bone is one of the carpal bones in the hand near the
wrist. A correct diagnosis, coupled with prompt treatment, can help
to reduce complications. However, in this case the injury was not
diagnosed correctly. Due to the fracture misdiagnosis the
client now suffers ongoing complications with his hand.
Subsequently our client is now unable to carry out
manual labour which has a direct impact upon his
career.
Rhian Parsons is quoted as saying
“I am happy to have concluded this case. My client has suffered
ongoing issues after his injury was misdiagnosed affecting his
ability to work. The settlement monies will ensure that my client
will have financial security”.
