The Licensing Team at Hugh James
Solicitors Cardiff has once again been ranked in the top tier for
Wales in both the Legal 500 and Chambers Guides. Hugh James
continues to work for major welsh clients such as the WRU and
University of Wales Institute as well as a variety of other
organisations on licensing related matters. A point which has been
highlighted in both this year’s legal guides.
Chambers and Partners guide note
that “This Cardiff-based licensing team acts for a broad range
of clients that includes pubs, bars, music festival organisers,
sports venues and universities. It recently represented the
University of Wales Institute in a number of contested license
applications across Cardiff, as well as advising the Welsh Assembly
Government through Cadw on visitor centre licences. ”
The Chambers guide pulls out key
individuals quoting that “Consultant Mark Perry offers vast experience of the
full gamut of licence applications, and market sources agree that
he is "very knowledgeable and has a good way with clients."
Regulatory and defence services department head Martin Jones provided counsel
to Millennium Stadium on new mandatory licensing conditions, and
has also been representing the organisers of the Beach Break Live
festival in a contested licensing application.”
Martin Jones, Partner and Head of
Licensing at Hugh James solicitors stated "To have maintained a top
tier ranking in both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners guide
is a true credit to the department and the hard work that they put
in as well as illustrating the range and types of licensing cases
we deal with. As a department we take pride in providing a
high-quality service to our clients. The legal guides comprise of
feedback provided by clients and specialist lawyers and therefore
identify the true level of service that we provide.”
