interests
- Cross section of
experience
- Nationally dedicated unit
The Hugh James Court of
Protection unit is one of only a few dedicated units
nationally with a unique multi-disciplinary team drawing on legal,
social and financial knowledge.
We work closely with
families and carers and ensure that the pressures and additional
stresses of looking after the individuals personal finances are
removed. We ensure that contact and liaison is maintained and
decisions taken by us are understood.
We understand the
importance of establishing personal relationships. This is vital in
ensuring that the right decisions and suitable provision for future
long term needs are made.
This cross section of
experience is vital in ensuring that we comply with the Mental
Capacity Act 2005 and in the best interest of the client every time
a decision is made. Careful consideration is given to the
financial, social and welfare issues as well as legal matters.
It will often be
necessary to deal with the sale or purchase of property, the making
of wills and family law matters. The unit liaises with legal
experts throughout Hugh James to ensure that any specialist legal
issues that arise are dealt with appropriately and efficiently.
