Profile
Gwenno joined Hugh James in 2002
and became Senior Associate in 2008.
Gwenno advises on contentious and
non contentious employment issues from pre litigation to Tribunal
for the public and private sector and manages a team responsible
for drafting and checking clients employment contracts and staff
handbooks.
Gwenno is experienced in Trade
Union issues. She recently won a case for a large
manufacturing client where the Claimant claimed victimisation for
Trade Union involvement. She works closely with the corporate and
property teams where employment advice is required in company
takeovers, group restructurings and similar transactions.
Gwenno appears regularly in the
Employment Tribunal and is an appointed Presenting Officer for the
General Teaching Council for Wales. She ran its first Wales case
against a teacher on capability grounds. Many of Gwenno's
cases are reported in the media.
Gwenno participates regularly in
media discussions and provides topical employment law commentary on
both Welsh and English television and radio broadcasts.

Gwenno is a fluent Welsh speaker
and advises through the medium of Welsh and is sole adviser to a
large Welsh public body where the majority of the advice and
training is undertaken through the medium of Welsh.
Interests
With two young children Gwenno has
little time for her own interests! But does enjoy socialising with
friends and family, cooking, running and skiing.
