Martin Jones is a Partner and Head
of Hugh James' Regulatory and Defence Services team. He advises on
a wide range of criminal and professional regulation matters. He
has 15 years post qualification experience.
Within the general crime field,
Martin specialises in fraud and money laundering allegations.
Martin's regulatory crime practice
incorporates work in the following niches:
- Health and safety litigation
- Environmental prosecutions
- Animal Welfare
- Road traffic and vehicle condition
issues pertaining to fleets
Martin is a HSE Solicitor Agent and
appears regularly on behalf of the Vehicle and Operator Services
Agency and the Security Industry Authority.
He deals with Professional
Regulation matters brought by a very wide range of regulators
including the GMC, GOC and NMC. He presents cases for the General
Teaching Council for Wales and acts as Legal Advisor to the Care
Council for Wales' Conduct Committees.
Martin has substantial coronial law
experience appearing in inquests throughout the UK for individuals'
companies, the Welsh Government and HSE.
Martin also deals with a
substantial licensing case-load; concentrating on licence reviews
and breach allegations. He has acted in a number of contested
applications to licence large-scale events.
