Matthew is chief executive of our
bespoke volume business Hugh James Involegal
LLP. Matthew was managing partner at Hugh James from 1999
to 2010. Prior to becoming the managing partner at Hugh James,
Matthew was a Partner in the commercial property department.
Matthew
acted on behalf of numerous housing associations and private
developers
on site acquisition, development and financing.
He was responsible for setting
up the Firm's Lender Services Department in 1999 in response to
demand for a volume financing capability from several national
lenders. He retains strategic management responsibility for the
department.
During his time as Managing
Partner he rationalised the business structure and focus of
Hugh James and has driven the strategy of providing both
consultancy and volume service areas across retained service lines.
He has also been instrumental in consolidating the Firm's
operations into a main Cardiff HQ office with a London
satellite. Hugh James in now the largest indigenous Welsh law
firm and continues to service both commercial and public sector
organisations in Wales and across the UK.
