Profile
Richard Lane is a Partner in the Hugh James
Commercial Team. Richard has extensive
experience specialising in commercial and framework
agreements, IT and Communication and intellectual property.
Richard's deals include:
- Advised (and continues to advise) the
Environment Agency on a significant number of multi-million pound
procurement projects relating to high value and high risk IT
systems, software, hardware, support and maintenance, development
and outsourcing.
- Advised the Cabinet Office on the acquisition of
their new content management system and an ongoing managed
service.
- Advised newly established Natural England on the
rationalisation of its three legacy IT systems and the outsourcing
to IBM.
- Advised Commission for Rural Communities on the
outsourcing of its IT operation.
- Advised Cardiff Council on a variety of
procurement projects relating to the new Cardiff Castle
Interpretation Centre including a concession catering, introduction
film and audio tour concession contract.
- Leading a multi-disciplinary team of Hugh James
solicitors on supporting Cardiff City Council’s Public Private
Partnership to improve transport.
- Currently advising Cardiff Council on the
procurement of a Strategic Technology Partner in respect of its
transformational change project.
- Advising Bay Leisure on the Management Agreement
for operating Swansea City Council’s new leisure and pool
complex.
