Hugh James commercial property experience

  • Parc Derwen, Bridgend - Acting for the consortium comprising the Welsh Government, Gallagher Estates, Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey on the Parc Derwen village project in Bridgend. The 200 acre site will provide 1,500 new homes, a small shopping centre, community centre and a new primary school for 330 pupils with 30 nursery places.  The Hugh James team are advising on title, property and construction documents, consortium documents, planning and infrastructure agreements.
  • Barry Waterfront - Acting for a consortium of Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon and Barratt Homes on the acquisition of the Barry Waterfront Site.  The transaction involves the acquisition of the 41 hectare with 2,000 new homes and around 300,000 square feet of commercial and leisure facilities.
  • WRU Centre of Excellence - Acting on behalf of the Welsh Rugby Union in connection with the £2 million Centre of Excellence at the Vale Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort in Hensol near Llantrisant. The project was the result of a three way partnership, with investment from the Welsh Rugby Union, Leekes, the owners of the Vale Resort, and the Sports Council for Wales who have allocated a £1.5 million National Lottery grant into the project. To meet exacting deadlines, the transaction exchanged within 7 days of receipt of contract papers and completed at the end of October 2008.
