Protection specialist unit comprises a multidisciplinary team
of experts in their field. The unit is also supported by
solicitors, paralegals and welfare benefits advisors.

Protection Unit:
Andrew Harding
Andrew Harding, is a Senior Partner and head of the neurolaw
team and heads the Court of Protection unit.
Andrew has acted as
a deputy for many years and has considerable experience within
this field. He is a member of the Court of Protection Court Users
Group and has been a member of the PGO Panel of Professional
Receivers and member of the PGO Professional Deputies Forum.
In addition to acting in
the role of deputy, Andrew Harding can also act as a
professionaltrustee and offers professional advice and expert
witness statements to other solicitors and barristers.
Kate Coles
Specialist support
services manager, Kate Coles is a qualified social worker. Kate
manages the unit and has particular experience in the field of
disability.
Ruth James
Ruth James is an Associate in
the Court of Protection Team at Hugh James. Ruth deals with a variety of matters
including Court of Protection applications, insurance cover and
employment issues. For 13 years, Ruth worked
in residential property dealing with sales, purchasers,
remortgages, equity release and deeds of gift. Ruth took a career
break for a short period to look after her family,
