Strowger or director equipment
Hearing problems from strowger or
director equipment
Some BT engineers suffer from
hearing problems due to working in noisy strowger or director
telephone exchanges.
Strowger, or long
holding, equipment was incredibly noisy and the Director, or short
holding equipment, even more so. The equipment would produce
a constant clattering noise which was created during the setting up
and routing of telephone calls.
The Strowger and Director
equipment would require constant maintenance which involved BT
engineers working amongst this equipment throughout their
shift.
Our clients have suffered
hearing problems as a result of working amongst the constant
clattering noisy of this equipment.
