Military team takes on Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

The Military Team at Hugh James has recently formed close ties with military charity, Care After Combat. Care after Combat aims to assist veterans with alcohol and drug misuse, as well as aiming to reduce the number of veterans re-offending in the criminal justice system. The charity is relatively new but has some familiar faces driving the project forward such as Jim Davidson (CEO) and Simon Weston (Trustee).

In light of the weather gods promising to be kind over the coming days and weeks, a group of us in the military team thought it would be great opportunity to make the most it by taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks (Y3P) challenge, which we hope will help raise awareness and funds for Care After Combat to support their great work.

The aim of the challenge is to climb three mountains spread over 24.5 miles. We must admit, we haven’t quite decided on how we’ll tackle the route and much depends on whether Ceri Breeze can find his compass and protractor in time; however, I’m sure we’ll be fine.

In addition to taking on the three peaks, there are a number of events that we will be getting involved with over the coming months. Specifically, Hugh James will be hosting a Study Day “Transition into Civilian Life” in October 2018 where special guests will be coming along to talk about the challenges veterans face and what more can be done to assist those who have given so much for our country.

If you would like to make a contribution, big or small, it would be greatly appreciated. You can make a contribution on our Just Giving page.

Thank you and wish us luck!!

Team Y3P
