On 8 September, a group of Hugh James’s senior team will be travelling to the United States of America to take on a cycling challenge in aid of Velindre Cancer Centre: West Coast Bike Ride.
Managing Partner, Alun Jones, partners Andrew Harding and Gerallt Jones and Head of Business Development and Marketing, Joe Purcell, will be joining 54 other riders to cycle 600km of the Pacific Highway from San Francisco to Los Angeles over six days. The ride will be extremely challenging and contains plenty of difficult terrain for cycling.
“We are delighted to be sponsoring Velindre’s West Coast Bike Ride and those of us who are taking part in the challenge can’t wait to get started,” said Alun.
“It’s fantastic to see how much money the ride has raised so far and I’m sure that will continue to grow. The publicity and profile of the trip will also shine a light on the staff at the hospital who work tirelessly to help those suffering in the darkest of times.”
Hugh James has supported Velindre Cancer Centre for many years. It is one of the firm's nominated charities for 2018 and is an incredibly popular choice among staff; many of whom have witnessed the amazing work done at the hospital by its dedicated staff.
Hugh James has sponsored the ride and the firm will also be hosting a rugby lunch in November where the team is hoping to raise an additional £25k in support of Velindre.
“We’re pleased to be involved in an event that will raise significant funds for the cancer centre and that we can support the incredible work it does. We are very grateful to those who have sponsored us to do this ride so far and to all those who have bought tables at our headline fundraising event in November,” said Alun.
