Sarah is an Associate in the banking and finance team at Hugh James. She joined Hugh James in 2016, having trained and practiced as a Barrister and Solicitor in Australia. Sarah works primarily in real estate finance, advising commercial lenders and undertaking due diligence against secured properties. She advises a number of other lenders and clearing banks on loans secured against a diverse range of commercial properties including residential investment properties and portfolios, petrol stations, retail shops, bars, hotels, pubs and restaurants, car dealerships, rural sites, care homes, medical/dental surgeries, industrial sites, student housing and new build developments and estates.
Recently, she has advised on the refinance of a large regional shopping centre, a zoo and a significant sporting ground. Sarah also advises borrowers and lenders in respect of intercreditor issues, security, intercompany loans, loan notes other aspects of debt finance.

- Advised a commercial lender in relation to a number of facilities (totalling £22 million) offered to a car dealership business, involving various group companies and complex intercreditor arrangements with multiple asset financiers
- Acted for the borrower in respect of the restructure of USD$130 million intercompany debt
- Advising a commercial lender on a £17.25 million loan to an overseas borrower secured by a large regional shopping centre
- Acted for a Metro Bank PLC in respect of loan facilities to Lancashire Cricket Club secured against the Old Trafford Stadium.
