Alannah has a wealth of experience in claimant litigation.
She first joined Hugh James as a paralegal in 2007, running her own files in the Claimant Fast Track Department. Whilst working in the Fast Track team she secured a training contract and thereafter completed her training in the Neurolaw and Nursing Care teams before qualifying into the Industrial Disease department in March 2013.
Alannah currently specialises in group actions and industrial disease litigation, focusing on occupational noise induced hearing loss claims for BT engineers.
More recently, Alannah plays a central role in The British Coal Coke Oven Workers Group Litigation. In the litigation, it is alleged that hundreds of former coke oven workers have suffered with respiratory diseases and cancers as a result of their employment at coking plants operated by British Coal across the UK. Alannah represents former coke oven workers and bereaved families of ex workers in this ongoing litigation. In a similar action, Alannah is also proceeding with the claims of coke oven workers previously employed by British Steel.
The correspondence I received from Alannah Ashford were first class, she was always polite and courteous in all dealings.
I have to say that when my case was passed to Alannah Ashford she gave me confidence in her handling and on the outcome of the case. I can’t praise her professionalism enough.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Hugh James responsible for delivering this excellent outcome, especially Alannah. It has been great to deal with such a professional and friendly company. The settlement money will make a big difference to my enjoyment of life. Thank you again.
If in the future I need legal help I will definitely contact Hugh James rather than any other firm of solicitors. Thanks very much indeed.
Thank you Alannah for all the hard work you have done on my behalf. I was very pleasantly surprised by the outcome of my claim. Many thanks.
