Aled Walters is a Partner and Head of the Commercial team at Hugh James. Aled was formerly an in-house lawyer at broadcaster, S4C, where he handled the drafting and negotiation of extremely varied commercial contracts, including significant, high-value rights contracts with the Welsh Rugby Union and the Welsh F.A. He also had responsibility for all the legal work of S4C’s commercial subsidiary, S4C International.
Currently he advises on corporate and commercial matters in particular within the betting, gaming, television and media industries and advises some of the largest gaming, gambling and betting businesses in the world. His work includes drafting and negotiation of business sale and purchase agreements, shareholder agreements and extremely high value commercial contracts, IP licensing arrangements and media contracts including co-production agreements.

He advises on-line gaming operators and AIM – listed Netplay TV Group plc on various commercial and corporate matters and gives regulatory and commercial advice on on-line payment arrangements. He advises one of the world’s largest casino equipment suppliers on corporate and commercial matters as well as the rapidly expanding Rainbow Casino group.
Aled is a Trustee and Honorary Counsel of Urdd Gobaith Cymru. He is also a Trustee of Menter Caerdydd, a member of the Court of the National Eisteddfod of Wales and a member of the Royal Television Society.
He is a fluent Welsh speaker and semi-professional musician. His other recreational interests include watching rugby, playing golf and skiing.
