Justin holds (and regularly exercises) Higher Rights of Audience in Criminal Proceedings, which allows him to represent clients before the higher criminal courts.
Justin has a particular specialism (and significant experience) in Fire Safety law, prosecuting on behalf of some of Wales’ Fire & Rescue Authorities for alleged breaches of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and also in appeals brought against the issuing of Enforcement Notices.
Justin has extensive experience in Proceeds of Crime Act proceedings, and has successfully represented clients at a number of fully contested Confiscation proceedings.
Justin also accepts instructions to act in Professional Regulation & Discipline matters, and currently acts as a Case Examiner for the General Optical Council”.
The arrival of associate Justin Davies at the beginning of 2016 has given Hugh James added depth across a range of health and safety issues.

What do you love most about your job?
Variety – no two days are the same!
What do you like to do outside work?
Being the father to two children, there is very little spare time! When the opportunity allows: foreign travel, and supporting (with mixed feelings) the Llanelli Scarlets and Swansea City F.C.
