Since 2005 I have exclusively undertaken clinical negligence work. I have experienced in a wide variety of areas. I have a specialist interest in orthopaedic, gynaecological and cardiac claims and cases involving gall bladder injuries. I am currently involved in a specialised investigation into the inappropriate prescription of anticonvulsant medication to pregnant ladies and the effects of the medication on babies in utero and the potentially significant care requirements needed by children born with mental and physical disabilities.
I have secured six figure sums for many clients in successful cases but treat all cases equally irrespective of value.
All aspects of clinical negligence, including:
Katie initially qualified into personal injury and litigation and spent nine months at Howells before moving to Lyons Davidson in 2005, where she solely practiced clinical negligence for five and a half years before moving to Hugh James in June 2010.
“May I take this opportunity to thank yourself and colleagues for the magnificent work you have done in pursuing my claim. Without your help and expertise this would not have been possible.”
“We are so very grateful for your kindness, consideration and sympathy and your unflinching support throughout the whole process. You have guided us every step of the way and have been a great source of encouragement.”
“I was so pleased with the settlement offer and thanks to your expertise we got a great result. I cannot thank you enough, and can now put the nightmare behind me and move forward knowing that justice has been served.”
What do you love most about your job?
I really love helping people, whether this involves advice on small claims or assisting with serious and traumatic injuries. Assisting people through the legal process in a friendly and empathetic manner is what I strive for.
What do you like to do outside work?
I enjoy cooking, especially baking, reading, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
