Dispute resolution

The Dispute Resolution Department at Hugh James is ranked by both Chambers and Legal 500 directories as one of the premier litigation departments in Wales and beyond year on year.  The department provides cost effective and commercially savvy legal advice to clients across a wide spectrum of commercial disputes.   Headed by Richard Locke, the department is split into three specialist sub-divisions, Commercial Dispute Resolution, Property Disputes and Housing Disputes.

Commercial Disputes

The Commercial Disputes team has a breadth of experience across all types of commercial disputes acting for individuals and sole-traders up to and including multi-national organisations. Richard Locke’s team is renowned for its commercial approach to disputes and has a proven track record of successfully acting in multi-million disputes.

Property Disputes

The specialised Property Litigation team, headed by Robert Phillips, undertakes all aspect of litigious property work for both tenants and landlords.

Housing Disputes

The Housing Management team offers a varied and specialist service to Registered Social Landlords (RSLs), Local Authorities and Private Landlords on all aspects of Housing Management and Anti-social Behaviour
