Saltend Waste Water Treatment Works

The environment group at Hugh James have been instructed by 100 residents in Hedon, near Preston, Hull to take legal action against Yorkshire Water for alleged odour emanating from its sewage treatment works.

Residents living close to the Saltend Waste Water Treatment allege serious odour problems for many years, which have reduced their enjoyment of their homes and gardens and leaves them unable to open windows and doors when the odour is present.  The local authority, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, issued an abatement notice against Yorkshire Water in August 2015, due to foul odours emanating from the site.

The claim will be for compensation for loss of enjoyment of the property caused by the odour nuisance in the past and potentially an injunction to prevent any continuation of any odour in the future.

If you believe your property has been affected by odour from the Saltend Waste Water Treatment Works and you would like to register a claim please contact the Hugh James Environment Group on 029 2039 1118, or text ODOUR to 66777 along with your name, contact telephone number and address or email to environmentgroup@hughjames.com.
