We have over 40 years’ experience of working for the insurance industry and offer a comprehensive claims service. We have developed particular expertise working for the retail industry, public utilities, local authorities and the transport sector. Our work covers both pre-litigated and litigated matters and ranges from low value to multi-million pound catastrophic injury claims.

In addition to claims handling and recovery services, we offer full general insurance law advice which embraces:

  • policy interpretation and wording;
  • contractual disputes between insurer and insured;
  • fraud, arson;
  • non-disclosure, misrepresentation and utmost good faith;
  • insurable interests, subrogation and agency law; and
  • declaration under Section 152 Road Traffic Act.

Experience

Recent experience for the Insurance and Corporate risk team includes:

  • defending group action claims for cryptosporidium outbreak caused from water contamination;
  • successfully defending claim at trial for injuries sustained as a result of a fall and claim made under the Defective Premises Act;
  • forensic analysis of earnings claim, achieving substantial savings on claim cost for our client;
  • defending claims made under the Animals Act 1971;
  • advising public sector organisation on the defence of claims for personal injury and property damage resulting from defective sewerage system;
  • defending/negotiating claim for head injury pursued by minor claimant for damages claimed exceeding £3m;
  • acting for transport sector client in the defence of numerous claims submitted by their passengers;
  • defending claim made on behalf of deceased’s estate for injuries alleged to have been caused by breach of statutory duties;
  • advising and defending claims for noise induced hearing loss and repetitive strain injury; and
  • defending claim for credit hire, achieving claims savings in excess of 75% of the amount claimed.
