We are proud to have advised Valleys to Coast on a new project that will see the disused Revlon factory site in Maesteg transformed into Valleys to Coast’s largest housing development to date.
The site, located off Ewenny Road and adjacent to the Oakwood Estate, will feature a total of 193 homes, comprising a mix of affordable homes for social rent, low-cost home ownership properties, open market sale homes, and affordable rent homes.
Valleys to Coast is delivering the £41.8m scheme with support from Cardiff Capital Region, Avant Homes and Bridgend Borough Council. The project will play a key role in Valleys to Coast’s growth plans, in addition to Bridgend County Borough Council’s wider regeneration strategy.
Commenting on the deal, Caroline O’Flaherty, Partner and Head of Social Housing, said:
“Working with Valleys to Coast on this major project has been a real privilege. This deal builds on a long-standing relationship with the team and reflects our shared commitment to delivering a community-focused development. As a firm rooted in Wales, we’re proud to support clients who care about creating lasting benefits for local people and look forward to seeing the project come to fruition.”
James Griffiths, Managing Director of Development & Regeneration at Valleys to Coast, said:
“For more than 12 years, this site has stood empty, but soon it will be home to a thriving community, offering a mix of social rent, affordable ownership, and open market sale properties. This means we can meet a range of needs while creating a vibrant, balanced neighbourhood where people can grow, work, and belong.
We aim to do more than build houses; we’re building opportunity. This project will breathe new life into the town, boost the local economy, and Draft strengthen our ability to invest in the maintenance and improvement of existing homes right across Bridgend.
We’re proud to be working in partnership with the local community and our key partners to make this vision a reality. Ewenny Road will be a place where people can look to the future with confidence and call home for generations to come.
Hugh James have been a key partner throughout this process; their expertise, support, and ability to act swiftly were critical in enabling us to meet the timescales and secure the largest development Valleys to Coast has ever undertaken.”
Work will begin in early 2026, with the first homes expected to be handed over by late 2026 and a full completion targeted for 2030.
