We are pleased to announce that we have advised the sellers of Victorian House Window Group on its £60 million sale to Inwido AB, a Nasdaq Stockholm-listed company and one of Europe’s largest window manufacturers.
One of the largest M&A deals in Wales this year, this milestone transaction marks a significant international investment in the Welsh manufacturing sector and will protect the future of numerous skilled jobs in West Wales. Inwido will acquire 100% of the share capital of the Group from lead investor BGF (which has been a shareholder since 2021) and the other shareholders of the company.
Victorian House Window Group is Europe’s largest manufacturer of PVC-U vertical sliding sash windows, well known for its brands Victorian Sliders and ECOSlide. Headquartered in Ammanford, the company operates depots and sales locations across the UK and Ireland and a hardware manufacturing site in Foshan, China. Employing around 300 people and generating annual sales of approximately £33 million, the business produces more than 1,750 windows each week and is a major contributor to Wales’s manufacturing economy.
A team from our Cardiff and London offices advised the sellers. The team was led by partners Gerallt Jones and Andrew Hoad, with support from solicitors Daniel Burke and Catherine Adamec.
Commenting on the deal, Andrew Hoad said:
“This is a landmark deal in this sector a fantastic outcome for everyone involved. We are delighted to have been involved in a transaction which secures a bright future for hundreds of jobs in West Wales and underlines the strength and resilience of Welsh manufacturing.”
Nick Evans, Chief Executive Officer of Victorian House Window Group, said:
“This transaction represents a hugely positive outcome for our colleagues and a real statement for Welsh manufacturing. Hugh James have been alongside us for a number of years and were the natural choice to support us on taking this significant step as we embark upon this next exciting chapter.”
