Witness Appeal: Did you work with Ronald March O’Halleron (known as Ron) at St Anthony’s Tar Plant?

Mr Ronald O’Halleron sadly passed away in June 2004.

Ron’s family has instructed specialist industrial disease lawyers at Hugh James to investigate how Ron’s employment at the St Anthony’s Tar Plant may have contributed to his respiratory illness.

Ron’s worked at the Tar Plant for around 30 years between April 1948 and 1978.

Ronald March

It is understood that Ron was working in conditions exposing him to pitch and tar related products from the distillation process during his career initially as a maintenance engineer and later as a Foreman at St Anthony’s Tar Plant for 30 years.

It is understood that as a result of Ron’s exposure to the pitch and tar related products at the Tar Plant he suffered from chronic bronchitis (CB).

Ron’s family have now launched an appeal to try and trace former colleagues of Ron’s in the hope they can provide further information about the work he undertook and the conditions whilst undertaking that work.

Ron’s family are keen to hear from any of his former colleagues from St Anthony’s Tar Plant about the work he carried out and the working conditions in which he was employed.

Former colleagues that knew Ron’s can get in touch with our team of industrial disease specialists on 029 2267 6021.
