Roman Kubiak, Head of Private Wealth Disputes, has been ranked as ‘Top Recommended’, and Matthew Evans, Head of Private Wealth, and Catrin Wigley, Partner in Wills and Estate Planning, have been ranked as ‘Recommended’ in this year’s index, which was published on 8 October 2025.

This year’s Spears ranking builds on a succession of major achievements for the team. We remain the only firm in Wales ranked in Band 1 for Private Wealth Disputes by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500, and continue to be ranked Band 1 for Private Wealth Law, with our Managing Partner, Alun Jones, recognised by Chambers and Partners as the eminent practitioner in Wales.
Our firm has also been named Solicitor Firm of the Year (National) at the British Wills and Probate Awards for four consecutive years (2021–2024) and we won Court of Protection Team of the Year in 2024. We are shortlisted again in both categories this year, as well as for a third consecutive year in the Contentious Wills and Probate Team of the Year – Boutique category.
In July, we also became the only firm to receive a five-star rating for our online will-writing service from consumer ratings agency Fairer Finance.
