Court of Protection: Expert witness services

Our Court of Protection experts regularly advise litigation solicitors concerning the likely Court of Protection and Deputyship costs of an individual in personal injury and clinical negligence proceedings.

Our experts act for both claimant and defendant solicitors in providing a report or witness statement concerning Court of Protection and Deputyship costs, attending joint discussions, conferences and trial where necessary.

Andrew Harding, consultant to Hugh James’ Court of Protection department

Andrew is widely instructed by other solicitors and counsel to provide expert witness input regarding Court of Protection and deputyship costs, to include both written statements and oral evidence at trial or tribunal. He has been described by one tribunal as an “…impressive witness, in full command of the often complex and challenging area of work in which he specialises.”

Andrew has been assisting individuals with an acquired brain injury as well as their families for well over 20 years. He has acted as a financial deputy for more than 19 years and established the firm’s specialist Court of Protection unit in 1998.
