Hugh James advises Chepstow Construction Equipment Limited on its disposal to an employee ownership trust

We are pleased to have advised Chepstow Construction Equipment Limited (CCE) on the successful disposal of the company to an employee ownership trust.

CCE provides new and used construction equipment to civil engineering firms, plant hire companies, building contractors and utility companies, and is the official Kubota (Construction) dealer for South West England and South Wales.

The transfer of the business into employee ownership is an exciting and positive step for the future of the company.

Our team played a pivotal role in guiding the CCE team through the complexities of the disposal by the Company to the Trust.

Commenting on the disposal Martyn Durran, Chairman at CCE, said:

“We would like to express our gratitude to Andrew and his team at Hugh James for all their help and the successful completion of the project. We enjoyed our experience working with them, and we highly recommend their services to anyone looking for exceptional expertise and professionalism.”

Corporate Partner Andrew Hoad led the deal, assisted by Solicitor Daniel Burke and Trainee Solicitor Catherine Adamec.

Andrew said:

“It was great to be able to assist Ian, Paul and Martyn and the CCE team with pulling this transaction together and completing within the agreed timeframe. We look forward to working with the Company as they embark on their next stage as an employee-owned business.

We are also pleased to have added this deal to the Corporate Team’s ever-growing list of EOT transactions that we have advised on.”
