Hugh James advises Welsh Fire on Matchbook partnership

We recently advised Welsh Fire on its sponsorship agreement with Matchbook, which will see the betting exchange become an official partner of the franchise for the 2026 season of The Hundred.

Under the agreement, the Matchbook brand will feature on the sleeve of both the men’s and women’s playing shirts throughout the competition, further strengthening Welsh Fire’s commercial partnerships for the new season.

Partner and Head of Sport, Mark Loosemore, advised Welsh Fire on the transaction to help successfully conclude the deal.

Speaking on the sponsorship agreement, Mark Loosemore said:

“We are delighted to have supported Welsh Fire on this latest partnership with Matchbook. The agreement represents another positive step for the franchise as it continues to strengthen its commercial offering for the 2026 season.”

Speaking on working with Hugh James, Ed Rice, Commercial Director at Welsh Fire, said:

“Hugh James provided clear and practical support, helping us move efficiently from discussion to completion. Mark’s understanding of the sports commercial landscape was invaluable in finalising the agreement quickly and confidently.”
