Hugh James continues to support Horatio’s Garden Wales | Nurturing the wellbeing of people after spinal injury

We’re proud to support Horatio’s Garden Wales at The Welsh Spinal Cord Injury and Neuro Rehabilitation Centre in University Hospital Llandough. Before the Welsh garden was built in 2022, we raised funds and awareness of this special charity for many years.

During the last couple of years, since the garden was built, the Serious Injury team and Court of Protection team have assisted Head Gardener, Owen Griffiths, by providing weekly volunteering in the garden.

Speaking on behalf of the Partnership, Cari Sowden-Taylor, Partner and Joint Head of the National Serious Injury team, said:

“We are delighted to continue to support Horatio’s Garden through our regional partnership. The garden is looking exceptionally beautiful and full of bloom as the summer months are now upon us. The garden is a haven for patients at the specialist spinal injury centre for Wales and provides wonderful sanctuary within a hospital setting where families can come and visit their loved ones. Ten members of our Serious Injury team and Court of Protection team enjoy volunteering, on rotation, on a weekly basis and this support helps the garden to grow and flourish. In addition to fundraising and weekly volunteering sessions, we help to host events and are looking forward to an afternoon tea and treasure hunt which will take place in June 2024.”

On behalf of Horatio’s Garden, Ruth Andrew, Corporate Partnerships Manager, said:

“We are incredibly thankful for the amazing support provided by Hugh James to the charity. The Hugh James team is involved in supporting Horatio’s Garden in numerous fantastic ways. They volunteer in the garden, support our charity events, participate in our Wales fundraising committee, and take on running challenges, such as the Cardiff Half Marathon, to raise vital funds. It’s wonderful to see the impact of their support and we very much look forward to continuing to work with the whole Hugh James team.”
