Giggles all round at charity comedy night

Last week, during International Week of Happiness, it was our pleasure to host a very special evening of stand-up comedy.

Taking place in London’s Covent Garden, the evening brought together the talents of four amazing comedians to raise money for our national charity partner, Theodora Children’s Charity.

Theodora Children’s Charity was founded by brothers André and Jan Poulie in memory of their mother Théodora in 1994. As a child, André spent a considerable amount of time in hospital and his mother transformed his painful experience into positive memories with the games, songs and stories she brought to his bedside.

This joy stayed with André many years later and gave him the idea to create a charity in her name.

Enter the Giggle Doctors!

Theodora’s Giggle Doctors visit hospitals to bring joy and laughter to brave children in challenging times through music, play, magic and storytelling. They also offer a Virtual Visit Programme.

Bringing sunshine and smiles into the lives of poorly children in hospital captured the hearts of our London colleagues and we couldn’t be prouder to work with them; shouting about the incredible and very unique service they offer as well as raising funds, ensuring they reach those who need them.

It was fabulous to see so many people at our latest fundraising evening which brought together the incredible talents of Stephen Owen, Dominic Holland, Matt Daniel Baker and Adam Bloom for some top quality comedy.

Through ticket sales, a raffle and an auction, we raised an amazing £3160, adding to the significant sum already raised for the charity prior to the event.”
