For nearly two decades, we have delivered regular training through the Local Authority Training Consortium (LATC), with sessions held throughout the year both online and in person. Led by lawyers from our dedicated Public Sector practice, alongside occasional guest speakers, the programme has built a strong reputation for providing practical, relevant insight.
As the programme has developed, it became clear that many of these sessions were equally valuable to our wider public sector clients. In response, and to better reflect this broader audience, the programme has, for the past 12 months, operated under the name Public Authority Training Consortium (PATC).
PATC provides a platform for in-house legal teams and other officers working across public authorities in Wales and England to access timely training on key legal topics, as well as opportunities to connect with peers.
A PATC Steering Group, made up of public authority contacts, helps shape the programme to ensure the topics deliver maximum value and support ongoing professional development. Previous sessions (including those delivered under LATC) have covered a wide range of areas, such as child protection, employment, planning, commercial litigation, construction, charity law, renewable energy and more.
