The specialist asbestos claims team at Hugh James have been instructed by Mr Alan Davies to investigate a civil compensation claim following his wife, Mrs Christine Davies’ diagnosis and death from mesothelioma.

Mesothelioma is an asbestos-related cancer, the only known cause of which is previous exposure to asbestos. In order to pursue a successful civil compensation claim, we need to be able to demonstrate how Mrs Davies came into contact with asbestos.

We believe that Mrs Davies father, Mr Michael Terence Leahy (Terry) was exposed to asbestos whilst working as a fitter cylinder examiner for The British Oxygen Company in Cardiff and brought the harmful substance unwittingly back to the family home on his work clothes, whilst Mrs Davies lived there.

Mr Davies is now appealing for help from former colleagues who might be able to shed some light on the use of asbestos at The British Oxygen Company and how Mr Leahy might have come into contact with the harmful substance.

Asbestos-related solicitor at Hugh James’ Cardiff office, Ceri Clark, has said:

“It would be really beneficial to be able to speak to some of Mr Leahy’s former work colleagues. I would encourage anyone who has information about asbestos exposure with this company to come forward, even if they didn’t work directly with Mr Leahy. Mr Davies and his family will be extremely grateful to anyone who is able to provide assistance”.

Anyone who worked with Mr Leahy, or who worked for The British Oxygen Company, who has information regarding asbestos exposure should contact Ceri Clark at Hugh James on 02922 675793.

Armed with the experience and specialist knowledge that is required for this complex area, Hugh James has helped thousands of people who have been either injured or developed an illness as a result of their work.
