Hugh James advises Waterspring Ventures on major investment in tourhub

Our corporate commercial team has advised our client Waterspring Ventures Limited as the award-winning early-stage venture capital firm chooses tourhub for their next major investment.

tourhub is an experiential travel aggregation platform, based in Cardiff, which helps travellers easily book their dream adventures in one easy place, with over 800 leading tour operators. It leverages insights from content creators and travel experts to create a community with insider knowledge, giving travellers’ confidence when booking.

Waterspring invests in early-stage Welsh companies with strong potential to create high productivity, high wage, highly skilled jobs in local communities across Wales.

Waterspring Ventures is investing £450k into the business, partnering with the Development Bank of Wales which is investing £300k from its Technology Seed Ventures Fund and £250k from its Angel Co-Fund.

Founder and Managing Partner at Waterspring Sam Huxtable commented:

“We’re delighted to be investing in tourhub. Numerous members of the team have led, built and exited businesses in the travel industry previously and this collective experience was a strong attraction for Waterspring Ventures. We really valued having the expertise of the team at Hugh James to help facilitate this major deal.”

Partner Gerallt Jones led the Cardiff-based team advising on the million-pound deal, supported by associate Matt Detheridge.

Matt added:

“Waterspring Ventures are on a mission to create a fairer venture capital, and this is the latest in an exciting stream of major investments. We were delighted to support Founder and Managing Partner Sam Huxtable and his team with this venture and wish everyone involved in tourhub an exciting future.”
