Witness Appeal to support victims abused by Mark Burgess


We represent a client who was sexually assaulted by Mark Burgess and are acting on their behalf.

Mark Burgess worked at The Portsmouth Boys’ School as a music teacher.

Burgess was also the Choir Master at All Saints Church in Portsmouth and St John’s Church in Westbourne, West Sussex.

Burgess gave children in his care alcohol and assaulted them. Further assaults were conducted whilst Burgess transported children to and from choir.

The abuse ran over a course of decades between the late 80’s to at least 2010.

Burgess was found guilty of 48 sex offences during his trial at Portsmouth Crown Court and is currently serving a sentence of 31 years for his crimes.
