Hugh James Appointed to HASAG Legal Panel

We are delighted to confirm that Hugh James’s team of specialist asbestos lawyers have been appointed to the legal panel of HASAG.

HASAG, has been helping those with asbestos-related disease in the south of England, including London and the Home Counties, for 15 years. The charity provides legal, financial, and networking support to victims and their loved ones. It also helps to raise awareness of the disease and campaigns for more research, better treatment, and care for victims of asbestos.

The charity was co-founded by Lynne Squibb in 2006 following the sad death of her father, David Salisbury who had suffered with the asbestos-related cancer, mesothelioma. HASAG was launched in memory of David to provide help, support and advice which was, at the time, lacking.

Mesothelioma is a terminal cancer caused by historic asbestos exposure. Around 2,500 people are diagnosed with mesothelioma in the UK each year. The condition has a long latency period meaning that sadly those who were exposed to asbestos many years ago, typically in the workplace between 1950 and 1980, are now being diagnosed with the condition.

The legal panel exists to ensure that asbestos-related disease sufferers and their families can gain access to specialist solicitors quickly and efficiently, enabling them to access all of the government payments and compensation schemes they are entitled to.

Only trusted law firms, with years of experience in providing specialist asbestos disease legal expertise, are appointed to the HASAG panel.

Hugh James has been successfully handling industrial disease and asbestos cases for individuals and families for over 50 years. Its team of specialist solicitors help those who suffer from mesothelioma, asbestosis, lung cancer and pleural thickening and provides ongoing support to clients and their families.

Commenting on the panel appointment, Partner and Head of the Asbestos Team, Richard Green, said today:

“It’s an honour to be appointed to the HASAG legal panel. The charity undertakes fantastic work supporting those who suffer with asbestos-related conditions across the south of England. As a recommended law firm, we can commit our skills and experience to the service of those the charity supports. Far too many lives are affected by asbestos-related disease and to have access to a charity such as HASAG can make a real difference.”

Lynne Squibb, Co-Founder of HASAG, said today:
