Lynn joined Hugh James in April 2021 and is a Partner in the Specialist Asbestos team, based in the Southampton office. Since qualifying as a solicitor in 2000, Lynn has specialised solely in helping people with mesothelioma and other asbestos related diseases.
Lynn has a wealth of experience of working on complex and high value asbestos related compensation claims. She has represented people from all walks of life, who through no fault of their own have been exposed to asbestos in their daily lives. Lynn's previous successful compensation claims have been for clients who have worked in shipyards, railway engineers, oil refinery workers, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, garage mechanics, shop fitters and office workers. Other successful claims have included those who have had secondary exposure to asbestos, mainly concerning women who have washed their husband or partner's clothes that have been contaminated with asbestos.
Lynn has strong links with medical specialists, palliative care providers, support organisations and barristers and also works closely with specialist respiratory consultants, lung cancer nurses and charities. Since 2008, Lynn has been involved with the asbestos support and awareness group HASAG, helping to support people with asbestos related illnesses located all over the South and South East of England.
Lynn is a member of APIL.
Lynn trained at Lamport Bassitt Solicitors and qualified in 2000. She became an Associate in 2008 and a Partner in 2010, before moving to Novum Law in 2015. She studied law at Southampton Solent University, where she was also a Lecturer in company law, revenue law and law of financial services between 1997 - 1998.
Lynn volunteers for the NSPCC, delivering Safeguarding Assemblies and work-shops to children at Key Stage 1 and 2.
