Mark is a senior associate undertaking a variety of clinical negligence work relating to NHS, GP and private treatment. Having practised in medical negligence since qualifying, he has gained a great deal of experience in investigating and pursuing such matters.
Mark’s case load ranges from straightforward cases, to more complex high value claims involving multiple experts. Mark has developed a specialist interest in the diagnosis and treatment of sepsis, and is keen to promote the devastating impact this can have. Hugh James works closely with the Sepsis Trust to highlight and learn from mistakes that have been made in the past relating to the management of sepsis.
Mark has recently successfully concluded a complex claim relating to the delayed diagnosis and treatment of meningitis. He also deals routinely with other matters including delay in diagnosis of cancer, and haematology treatment amongst other areas. Other notable cases includes orthopaedic, general surgery and colorectal.
Mark has had a great deal of litigation experience, having recently run one of his cases successfully to trial where liability had been strongly disputed throughout.
