Sophie is a Senior Associate in the Clinical Negligence team, based in the Manchester office. Sophie has over 10 years’ experience in advising and supporting clients who have suffered serious injuries as a result of negligent medical treatment.
Sophie specialises in high value complex cases including those involving amputation, brain injury, birth injury and spinal injury. Sophie also has experience in dealing with a wide range of clinical negligence cases including those involving surgical negligence, delays in diagnosis and injuries resulting in death.

- Negligent administration of a local anaesthetic resulting in the patient’s death;
- Delay in diagnosing urachal cancer;
- Part of the legal team representing a young man who suffered a below knee amputation due to delay in diagnosing compartment syndrome following a motorbike accident (Judgment: Riley v Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust [2022] EWHC 2417 (KB));
- Part of the team who secured damages for a man who had suffered an above knee amputation following negligent management of a sport injury.
