The family of the late Mr Andrew Horton, who sadly died from mesothelioma (a cancer linked to asbestos exposure) aged 66, is appealing for information from anyone who worked at the former Inland Revenue Building in Llanishen, Cardiff.
Our asbestos solicitors have been instructed by Mr Horton’s family to pursue a civil compensation claim following his death in July 2024. They are looking to trace former colleagues, contractors or others who may have knowledge of working conditions, maintenance activity, or potential asbestos exposure at the site during Mr Horton’s employment.

The Inland Revenue building has since been demolished. It has been reported that significant quantities of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) were removed during the demolition works.
Emma James, Associate in our asbestos team, said:
“We are hoping to help Mr Horton’s family by locating others who worked at the Inland Revenue Building in Llanishen. If you worked with Mr Horton at any point, or have knowledge of asbestos use, disturbance or removal at the site, we would be very grateful to hear from you. Even small details could prove crucial in understanding how he was exposed and in holding those responsible to account.”
