World Asthma Day 2023

World Asthma Day took place on 2 May, and Partner Kathryn Singh was invited by Asthma and Lung Cymru to attend their World Asthma Day reception at the Senedd, to launch their new asthma report and hear from the Health Minister about the improvements that will be made to asthma services across Wales.

Over 5.4 million people in the UK live with asthma and the death rates caused by asthma rising.

The statistics show that Wales has one of the worst asthma rates in Europe.

Not a lot of people are aware that they suffer with occupational asthma or if they have an existing condition, that if may have been made worse by their employment and compensation will be available to help them recover and have appropriate long term care.

At Hugh James we have represented many asthma suffers receive the help they required after suffering with occupational asthma. Asthma can be debilitating condition and simply legal measures that employers should put in place, would prevent such suffering. It is important to me to know that anyone who suffers with asthma has the appropriate care and treatment provided.
