Philip is a Partner in the Serious Injury team and has over 30 years’ experience in representing adults and children who has sustained serious injuries, and the families and loved ones who have lost people who tragically died as a result of an accident.
Philip specialises in representing people after head and brain injuries, limb loss, spinal cord injury and polytrauma. He also has long experience of dealing with fatal claims and assisting families through the Coroners’ Courts. Philip deals with claims following road traffic collisions, accidents at work and in public places.
Philip’s excellent technical knowledge of the law works alongside his passion for rehabilitation and ensuring his clients have access to the best available treatment and support so that their recovery is maximised. Philip always wants to be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team, working alongside other professionals such as Case Managers, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Prosthetists, and to achieve the best possible results for his clients.
Philip is accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers as a “Brain Injury Specialist” and was in the first group of lawyers in the UK to be recognised for that rank.
In fatal claims, Philip understands the unique emotional position that families and loved ones who have been bereaved find themselves in and guides his clients through the unfamiliar legal processes they find themselves in, and obtained a qualification in Coronial Law from the University of Bolton to enable him to provide the best possible support.
Throughout his career, Philip has secured millions of pounds of compensation for his clients, and has taken a number of cases to the Court of Appeal – helping to shape the law in important areas such as the quantification of future care claims, how to apportion negligence between parties to litigation and how the Court should deal with clients who might not have the capacity to deal with litigation.
For each client he works with, Philip sets up a bespoke team of highly qualified professionals including leading counsel and specialist juniors, excellent medico-legal experts and skilled therapists in order to provide the best support to his clients.
Philip was ranked has been ranked as a ”Leading Partner” for a number of years in the Legal 500, and a Band 1 Lawyer in Chambers and Partners.
