One of the UK’s leading litigation lawyers has joined Hugh James – in a move which will boost the firm’s claimant teams in London.
Kevin Grealis brings more than 30 years’ experience in serious and complex personal injury and clinical negligence cases. He is an honorary panel member of the UK charity for patient safety and justice, AvMA and is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury panel. Kevin has held several high-profile roles at the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, APIL, and is currently the Co-coordinator of the London Regional Group.

Kevin is well known and recognised in Chambers for his cross-over cases and ‘specialist hybrid’ practice – where there is an accident resulting in serious personal injury and then subsequent clinical negligence in the injured party’s treatment.
From September, Kevin will operate primarily from Hugh James’ London office but is looking forward to spending some time at the firm’s award-winning Cardiff headquarters, Two Central Square, having studied and worked in Wales earlier in his career.
A Partner at Stewarts since 1996, Kevin graduated in Law from the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, before training at Loosemores in Cardiff. He then moved to Evill & Coleman in Putney, where he became an Associate Solicitor, before joining Stewarts in 1994.
Speaking of his appointment, Kevin said:
“I’m very excited to be joining Hugh James. I have known and respected the firm and its partners over many years. It has an enviable reputation for providing the full range of personal injury work, supported by its Court of Protection and community care teams, the latter being of increasing importance to its clients. Over the last few years, I’ve dealt with some of the most complex and challenging cases in my professional career and at Hugh James, I look forward to continuing to work on behalf of clients in an area of law I’m passionate about, alongside a talented team.”
Commenting on his arrival, Stephen Webber, Divisional Head at Hugh James, said:
“Kevin is an excellent addition to the Partnership – bringing with him rich experience, a strong track record and an impressive reputation. We’re pleased to welcome Kevin to Hugh James and look forward to working with him as we continue to grow our claimant work and strengthen our national coverage.”
